At the Heart of County Down
Located in the beautiful countryside of County Down, Saintfield sits approximately 12 miles from Belfast and 10 miles from Downpatrick, making it an ideal location for commuters, families and businesses.
A thriving village with a population of over 3,500 people, Saintfield combines the charm of rural living with excellent access to Belfast and the wider region. Often described as one of County Down’s most attractive villages, Saintfield boasts a distinctive Main Street lined with historic buildings, independent shops, cafés, businesses and community facilities.
Rich in history and heritage, the village traces its origins back to the early 1700s and played an important role in the events surrounding the 1798 Rebellion. Saintfield is home to a vibrant community spirit, supported by a wide range of local organisations, sports clubs, churches, schools and volunteer-led groups.

Things to See and Do
Just outside the village lies Rowallane Garden, one of Northern Ireland’s finest gardens.
Managed by the National Trust, it is renowned for its spectacular displays of rhododendrons, azaleas, woodland walks and seasonal colour.
The village’s new Community Heritage Park, Windmill Park, provides three acres of accessible green space featuring the remains of an early nineteenth- century windmill, miller’s cottage, former railway infrastructure, wildlife habitats, walking paths and interpretation of the area’s industrial heritage.
